The Phiten story
Phiten started in Kyoto in 1983 with a chemist called Yoshihiro Hirata and a stubborn question: metals are known to conduct energy through the body, so why can they only be worn as jewellery, sitting on top of the skin, rather than carried into a fabric?
The answer took years. What came out of it is the process Phiten still uses — breaking titanium and other metals down to nano level and dispersing them in water, so the metal can be soaked through a fibre, a gel or an adhesive rather than plated onto it. Phiten calls the titanium version Aqua Titanium, and the blend of titanium, gold, palladium and platinum Metax. There are now over a hundred patents around it.
How it travelled
Phiten did not grow through advertising. It grew because Japanese baseball players started wearing the necklaces, then the tape, then the supporters — and kept wearing them. From there it moved to Major League Baseball dugouts, then to football, athletics, tennis and golf. Today Phiten runs its own shops across Japan, and roughly half of what it sells goes to people who are not training for anything at all: office workers, drivers, nurses, people who stand all day.
Why India, and why now
Nihon is Phiten's first distributor in India. We are a small team in Delhi NCR, and the reason we went after this brand rather than an easier one is that India has almost nothing in this category that is honest about what it is. You can buy a ₹200 pain patch that promises to fix your back, or a ₹30,000 device that promises the same. What is missing is the middle: a properly made product, made in Japan for four decades, that tells you plainly it supports relaxation and recovery and does not pretend to be medicine.
What we will not do
We will not tell you Phiten cures anything. We will not put a doctor in a lab coat on our homepage. When someone asks us on WhatsApp whether Phiten will help with a torn ligament, the answer they get is no, see a physiotherapist. The independent published research on this technology is limited and mixed, and we say so on our own FAQ rather than hoping you do not look.
What we will do is bring the genuine product in through the front door — properly imported, properly labelled, with Phiten Japan's authorisation — and price it so an Indian customer can actually buy it rather than paying a grey importer two and a half times over.
Who runs it
Nihon is founded and run by Dr. Neha Bhardwaj (PT), a physiotherapist with sixteen years in digital health. That background is the reason for the tone of this whole site: someone who has treated patients is not comfortable overclaiming.
